Photo Friday: Where in the World is Tybarbary?

Okay, so – if my friend, @Tybarbary, were in this photo, where in it would Ty be? (taken along Guanella Pass Scenic Byway, a 24-mile stretch of bumpy dirt road running from the small town of Grant on U.S. 285 to Georgetown off I-70.  Elevation: 11,669-feet) Answer: …just sayin’ ~P

Photo Friday: Ice, Ice, Baby

What?  It HAD to be done… Loved this.  Frozen creek melting, so you have the layer of snow/ice on the top, but the water rushing through underneath, making for some fun photography. This shot, I like how the ice has melted, forming globules hanging down (zoom in to see it): ~P

Continuing the photos from the set taken along Guanella Pass Scenic Byway, Elevation 11,669 feet.  Starting in Grant on U.S. 285, the 24-mile stretch of bumpy dirt road / pass runs to Georgetown off I-70 This one surprised me. Driving along, when suddenly I see the words ‘SANTA MARIA’ out of the corner of...

Photo Friday: Short Cuts Cause Long Delays

Continuing the photos from the set taken along Guanella Pass Scenic Byway, a 24-mile stretch of bumpy dirt road running from Grant on U.S. 285 to Georgetown off I-70.  Elevation: 11,669-feet. I wonder, sometimes, about fantasy novels.  I enjoy fantasy, especially epic fantasy novels.  A lot of times, they involve moving cross country –...

Continuing the photos from the set taken along Guanella Pass Scenic Byway, a 24-mile stretch of bumpy dirt road running from the small town of Grant on U.S. 285 to Georgetown off I-70.  Elevation: 11,669-feet. Last week, I gave you a shot looking south east.  This week, north west (so basically, I turned around):...

Photo Friday: Royal Gorge

My trip to Royal Gorge, Colorado, marks the only time that I can remember being affected by height. Royal Gorge is essentially a gorge with this massive bridge crossing it: I’ve never really had a problem with heights before.  Maybe it was the openness of it all, or the slight breeze causing the bridge...

Pike’s Peak National Park – Random Waterfall: When the snow melts, you get a lot of these cropping up.  This one was cool because you could easily get to it.  We even drank the water. ~P

Photo Friday: Whirled Peas

In Estes Park, Colorado, there is a river walk that includes a tunnel. The entrance and exit of this tunnel are lined with ceramic tiles decorated by local school children.  This one is particularly amusing: As you can see, the kid in the middle just wants ‘Whirled Peas’. ~P

Photo Friday: Treebeard?

No, sorry – that’s not Treebeard.  What that is, I can’t say.  Other than weird.  Pucker up? I snapped this photo at a tourist attraction in Manitou Springs, Colorado – the Cliff Dwellings.  Cool place.  Weird tree. The sign hanging from it reads as: The Ponderosa Pine! …with Mister Potato Head features… ~P

Photo Friday: The Down Angle

This photo was taken with the same point and click camera I mentioned in last week’s Photo Friday. In this case, I was further south near Colorado Springs.  Yes, I was on a mountain, and I was looking down from a decent overhang when I decided to snap this shot. I keep trying to...
