Nice. Interesting and flows. The science bits may be typical fodder nowadays but they're good and fit. Characters seem solid. All we need is a full story. The physical descriptions surprisingly don't detract--you told them well. The second bit with Cord could be a bit less tell, but otherwise...Lock 'n Load!

I have to say that there is no doubt that your work is publish quality, just a matter of completing enough pieces and sending them out enough times to plant them in front of the right person. Or going the self-publish route full steam and making your impression that way. However with self-publishing, I would wonder if you have enough time in your day to do further marketing.

I watched that show. Been a while, but I liked it. I didn't know anything really of the Flash mythos so I wasn't bothered by the details. His metabolism bit was a good laugh.

I fondly remember when he phazed through a wall by jittering so fast his atomic structure wove through that of the wall. Cool.

I can type at my desk. Thankfully. Bring my lunch every day, get almost a full hour. Sometimes type on my breaks too, and on the BART. Sometimes I'm too tired to do anything but stare at the screen. Those times I do something else. I don't want to accidentally delete something.

Well, I'm glad that you think you'd enjoy the story and yes, I know you don't read much, so that's extra encouraging.

Re: Her killers; the story really isn't about who killed her as much as why and how does that affect Cord and who/what he becomes as a result of that. So with that in mind, who killed her isn't as important and can be revealed early on.

You know I'm not fond of reading, but I think I'd enjoy this story. You did however reveal her killers awfully quickly... Perhaps a twist in store?

I've been jumping around from place to place, trying to find decent spots. So far the best is Tokyo Joes - IF I can find a place to park. Second best has actually been this tavern/dive just up the street from work - they always have 'quiet corners' and, similar to you, keep my Mt Dew full...

I do a fair amount of lunch writing, but I'm most productive at one particular restaurant. It's not the quietest place I've been to, but the staff knows me and keeps my (unsweet) tea glass full while I add ink to Moleskine.
