I’ve been feeling a little stale lately when it comes to reading. I’ve bought several books, started them and then moved on without finishing em.
This happens from time to time.
With that in mind, I made a trip to ye olde book seller and picked up a few things to whet the literary appetite. I haven’t [...]
If, like me, you’re an avid watcher of tv and movies, and a reader of books, you may have noticed a trend towards the disastrous future. Apocalypse is in and in big. I mean, it’s everywhere we look.
I think it’s sort of a staple of the genre now. If you’re going to have a futuristic/scifi [...]

A few quick bits going around in my head today, April 15th, 2009.
First off: Why the BBC and SciFi should make a deal to air Doctor Who in a -timely- fashion in the states, no more of this year later bull crap. In brief: BECAUSE I WANT IT!
Sheesh.
Fringe – love it. Want more. Give me [...]
So. TOR put out a press release today regarding the late Robert Jordan’s finale to the Wheel of Time saga – A Memory of Light. Basically, they said that the book was being cut into thirds. My initial response to this was to be extremely pissed off. I felt that they were just trying to [...]
I really do amuse myself sometimes. And I probably shouldn’t be left alone with whiteboards.
Last night as I was leaving for home, I noticed that the whiteboard usually reserved for the ‘to do’ list of the IT department, was blank. Me being me, I picked up a marker and wrote the following:

When I lived in Tennessee, used book stores were huge. I mean that in every possible sense of the word ‘huge’; they were hugely popular (could hardly find a parking spot), they were in these huge buildings (like warehouse stores), there were huge lines at the checkout and the shelves were huge and stocked with [...]
I remember when Star Trek: Enterprise was cancelled – in fact, I blogged about it on the old site which no longer exists or else I’d give you a link. Forgive me, I’m trying to remember the particulars here – a rather famous author (who’s name escapes me – was it Ellison?) wrote a ‘hallelujiah!’ [...]
