Official Description: From Marvel Studios comes DOCTOR STRANGE, the story of world-famous neurosurgeon Dr. Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), whose life changes forever after a horrific car accident renders his hands useless. When traditional medicine fails him, he travels to remote Kamar-Taj in search of a cure, but instead discovers the mystical arts and becomes a powerful sorcerer battling dark forces bent on destroying our reality.
Unofficial Description: What a god-awful mess of a movie.
Not even Benedict Cumberbatch could make this film watchable. The Hulk no longer has the distinction of being the worst Marvel Movie. The story was all over the place and made no sense. It’s as if they took all the stuff they wanted to do in a movie and tossed it in to see what happens. I almost felt like they made this movie because they had to in order to introduce the character and get on to other things later. Or that someone saw Inception and was all, “HOLY FUCK I WANNA PLAY WITH THAT SOFTWARE – CAN I? CAN I PLEASE?”
I was reminded of watching the Doors movie when it first came out and totally not understanding WTF it was supposed to be. A friend leaned over and said, “Maybe you have to be high to get it.”
Blargh.
Like Iron Fist, there’s no reason to watch this except to push through to the next thing…
And also like Iron Fist, I caught this on Netflix and am SO GLAD I didn’t shell out $$ to see it in a theater…
