February 2017 Read List

Share

February started with a hangover from January – The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson. Holy crap! What a massive book. I think this is what they mean when they say ‘epic fantasy’. 45 hours! O_O BUT – I loved it! SO much so, that I grabbed the next book, Words of Radiance as well.

1) The Way of Kings: Book One of The Stormlight Archive by Brandon Sanderson
Narrated by: Kate Reading and Michael Kramer

2) Words of Radiance by Brandon Sanderson

Words of Radiance: Book Two of The Stormlight Archive by Brandon Sanderson

I liked the back and forth narration between Reading and Kramer. However, it did get a little weird when they would do voices the other had been doing. That just tripped my brain out.

After these books, I wasn’t quite ready to give Sanderson up yet, so I grabbed The Final Empire: Mistborn Book 1.

Loved it! Picked up book 2 for March!

However – with three such hefty listens back to back to back to…back, I decided I needed something a bit smaller in scope, and ended up picking up three audiobooks on sale that are all the 1st in a series. This is the second time Audible has gotten me to buy the 1st in a series by putting them on sale. Clever Audible…

I only listened to one, but did so in a single day (super short book):

4) Something from the Nightside by Simon R. Green
Narrated by: Marc Vietor

That’s my FEB read list. All good stuff. Nightside, for me, was a bit predictable yet still enjoyable and got me out of the epic fantasies for a minute 😉
