The kind folks over at Pikes Peak Writers have asked me to teach you how to use Scrivener. I said, “Sure!” and now we have a day, time and place all picked out and ready to go! The only thing left we need?
You!
Here’s the pitch: It’s a half-day workshop called ‘Scrivener is NOT Word‘.
In the first 30-45 minutes, I’ll cover the basics and you’ll learn how to navigate Scrivener’s Project Structure and setup new projects followed by a 15 minute Q&A. For the remainder of the class, we’ll delve deeper and look at how to setup custom templates, outline a novel quickly and easily, use the View Modes, Compile / Export your work for publishing, and most importantly, how Scrivener is not Word and treating it like it is will only end in tears and hours of lost time for you.
This is all based on the conversations I’ve had with new users, the questions they ask, and the issues they run into. If you come to this workshop, you will not be disappointed and you will be armed with the knowledge to use Scrivener to its fullest potential.
Sound good?
Good!

I just learned about this today (8/29/15 so I wonder if/when you might do it again? I’d drive down from Lafayette to attend.
Not sure, Peter. (sorry for the late reply – been super busy lately).
I know PPW doesn’t like to repeat themselves too often, so I might do something for them at conference or it might be another year :/
I’ve been considering some sort of Google Hangout type thing and will let you know if/when that happens.
