The Year I Was Born

BabyHesterIt’s that time again, time when I think back on my life because I’m hitting another milestone/anniversary of the day I was born.

A lot has happened since last year.  I was unemployed at the time, now I have a great job working with great people.  Last year was a major milestone that pretty much came and went without much fanfare.  I don’t expect this year to be any different.  With the possible exception that I will be attending MileHiCon for at least part of my birthday this year.  That’ll be fun. 🙂

In the year that the chubby little fellow on the right was born, lots of stuff was going on in the world.  A slew of television shows made their debuts.  For example:

  • Kung Fu on ABC

Notable movies released that year include:

  • Deliverance
  • The Getaway
  • Conquest of the Planet of the Apes

At the 30th World Science Fiction Convention, held in Anaheim, CA these fine folks/stories/books/movies/fans won Hugo Awards:

Also born in October were these fine folks:

Other bits of notable stuff:

Of course, I don’t remember any of it.  I was a baby!  Sheesh.  You can’t expect babies to remember stuff.  They’re far too busy eating and pooping to remember stuff…
