Friday Flick: The Awakening

Official Description: They say, the boy was scared to death. When the death of a child at a boarding school is blamed on a ghost, hoax exposer Florence Cathcart is certain that science and reason can explain it. But the truth she discovers is more terrifying than she could ever imagine, and soon the ghost hunter becomes the hunted. Starring Rebecca Hall (The Town), Dominic West (John Carter) and Imelda Staunton (Harry Potter), The Awakening is a terrifying mystery filled with haunting twists that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

Unofficial Description: This was an interesting movie on a couple of levels.  First, I didn’t see where it was going, and I often do (much to the annoyance of anyone watching a movie or tv show with me).  Second, I liked the progression of the story.  Florence Cathcart is sure of herself and her beliefs, and goes into the ghost hunting with no illusions that it will be anything other than a hoax.  When things start to turn a bit, she holds onto those beliefs and pushes forward.  A decent flick with some solid characters and a good, twisty story.  Well worth your time.
