Starting today, I’m back to doing what I do best: Marketing.
I’ve been fairly quiet here on the blog about the sales job. For the record, I’ll just say this: it was a really rough, demanding job. Long days (10 hour shifts), long weeks (50 hour weeks + commute time and lunch hour), and little money. It started with the promise of lots of money. As time went on, little bits of information starting to come forth, including the fact that we were in a traditionally slow period for the sales department, which is what was accounting for the poor numbers most everyone was doing, and subsequently, the poor commission checks. This included me. ‘Top producers’ were barely making any money on my team, so it was pretty lean for everyone.
I constantly pushed and improved, raising my numbers and performance, but I wasn’t happy. Worse, I was exhausted all the freaking time. Something had to give. This new opportunity came along at the perfect moment. I have hit it off with the two partners, it’s a good, stable company, and I’m really excited to dig in and get started.
Wish me luck!
