I hit Apple’s movie trailer site recently, and was floored to see that there were 26 different trailers for Star Trek: Into Darkness. For a film that is ‘shrouded in secrecy’, that’s a lot. I mean, is there anything left of the movie that we haven’t seen?
How many times can you recut the same footage? I feel like the folks behind this movie are going way overboard with the marketing trailers. Did they take the Lucas pill? (Constantly changing/tweaking the footage over and over)
It’s this kind of over-promoting that can turn people off. How many times have you heard someone joke, “I don’t need to see the movie – all the good stuff was in the trailer”? (Or something similar)
Ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous.
