I met a lady who works for FOX Sports! She was regaling us with tales of the Chicago / Green Bay football game, which she attended as part of her job.  She will also be going to the SuperBowl.

I need a job like that!

Tax season is upon us. *ducks all the rotten tomatoes*

For the first time in forever, I might get a decent refund.  I usually don’t use the IRS as a no-interest savings account but owning the house sorta changes all of that a little.

Should be interesting.

Saturday I’ll be attending my first ever writer’s group.  I’m excited.

When reading becomes a chore, I do very little of it.

Went to bed last week & had all these ideas start flooding in.  I both love and hate when that happens.  I mean, I love the ideas, ideas are good, but why do they have to hit me when my head hits the pillow and I close my eyes?

When restaurants have a long counter, like Subway or Quiznos, and on one end they have a GIANT YOU CAN’T POSSIBLY MISS IT SIGN that reads: ORDER HERE!, I don’t understand people walking up to the other end to order.  Especially when there’s a line.  Are they really that oblivious to the world around them?

Ringtones perplex me.

The concept: let’s take your favorite song that you love oh so much, and place it on your phone so that, every time it rings, you hear a snippet of your beloved song.

It doesn’t take long before your beloved song becomes the song you hate because your phone rings in the middle of a meeting, embarrassing you, or it rings when you’re in the restaurant about to dine with friends, or when you sit down in the movies.  It rings when the (insert utility) company calls because your payment is two days late, or when your doctor calls to tell you they want you to come in for a check up, or when that person you can’t stand calls to bother you about (insert annoying topic).

Before you know it, you hate that song.  Hate it, hate it, hate it.

…so wouldn’t a better market be ‘songs you hate’?

I once asked someone, “Why is the sky blue?” I was trying to be a smartass.  Imagine my surprise when he went all science guy on me and explained it…

There are people in the world who don’t believe we landed on the moon, but do believe Aliens crashed in Roswell.

Think about that.

I am not superstitious.  I don’t believe that, by talking about something bad, that I will bring it down upon my person.

I am taking a very late lunch today (as in, I left an hour later than normal) due to meetings at work.  I always worry when this happens, like, that I’ll get in trouble.  Lunch is immutable.  It must not shift and change with your day!  You must always take it at the same time and if you miss that time – oh well.  It’s like bringing a space shuttle in for a landing.  Ooops!  You missed your window – now you have to circle around, maybe land somewhere else.

I wish I knew carpentry.  I don’t want to build a house or anything, I’d just like to know how to do SOME stuff.

I actually reign in my sense of humor on all the podcasts.  I have to.

The guy sitting across from my table, the one with the bald head, fringe of shaggy red hair, wide, handlebar mustache and beady little eyes, is telling the lady sitting across from him about ‘sex appeal’.

The world around us is constantly changing.  Look!  There was a change.  LOOK! Another one. OVER THERE! Ah you missed it.

I understand people not wanting to eat meat.  I understand people wanting to be ‘natural’.  I understand the concept of putting back what you take.

What I don’t understand is why taking a shower once in a while so I don’t have to smell your stinky feet is such a bad thing…
