If you should have the opportunity presented to you to read ‘Final Crisis’, the massive crossover event from DC Comics (available now as both a trade paperback or as a novelization), I would like to point out to you that there are several other, far more entertaining things you can do with your time rather than read that book.

Such as:

  • Get a root canal
  • Lose your leg in a fight with a shark
  • Cut your heart out – with a spoon

I think every house needs to have a master light switch.

check it out – you head to bed, you turn off the light to go to sleep and you realize that you’ve left the lights on downstairs.  Now you have to get up, turn your light on, head downstairs, turn those lights off, head back up stairs – it’s too much!

So – I propose a single switch that turns off ALL THE LIGHTS!  Forgot to turn off the lights?  NO PROBLEM! Flip the MASTER LIGHT SWITCH and no need to get up and go downstairs!

It’s genius.  You wait – someone will make it happen…

My cat has been pretty much ignoring me since I got sick.  I think some stuff traumatized him.  first off, there was my brother.  For whatever reason, my cat shies away from people who smoke.  I don’t know what it is, but he will come up to them, sniff em, then steer clear.

On the other hand, the fact that my brother SAT ON HIM probably had a little something to do with the whole trauma thing.  Late one night, my brother came up from the basement to get a glass of milk.  Unaware of where the cat’s tend to sleep or lounge and, not bothering to turn a light on, he did not see the little black cat curled up in the rocking chair…

“He shot out from between my legs!  Scared me to death!”  …consider how HE must’ve felt…

Yeah, so, Shadow did NOT forgive him that trespass.  but I was talking about me – when I was sick, he was right there in bed with me.  Once I got out of bed, though, he got an attitude and has been avoiding me; no play time, no letting me pet him, no anything until this past week.

Strange.  STRANGE ARE THE MINDS OF CATS!

Dakota, meanwhile, doesn’t care who you are or what you’re doing so long as he can sit on your feet or next to you on the couch…

Finally started reading World’s End, The Age of Misrule, by Mark Chadbourn.  This is one of the PYR titles that Lou Anders FORCED ME TO PURCHASE AT SWORD POINT!!!

…okay, so, maybe not sword point, but it’s still his fault for making it sound so cool.

Anyway, so far, so good – excellent premise, well drawn characters, very intense from the get go and building as the story progresses.

I have high hopes for the series based on the first few chapters of book one.

I really think I’m gonna write SOMETHING about Scrivener and how it has changed the way I write.  I feel so much more productive and it’s strange that I can equate that to a piece of software.  Need to try and explain WHY in a post…

Zero progress on renovating the basement and getting my office setup.  I need to just DO IT.  Sigh…
