Man, being sick really put me behind the eight ball (old saying. Look it up.)
I am behind on several projects, not the least of which is some posts I promised Sf Signal. I’ve got a couple nights of podcasting to do this week before I can devote any time to stuff and I haven’t had the energy to try and knock much out during lunch (specifically because I didn’t feel like hauling the laptop anchor around with me this week. I just started feeling better! I don’t want to carry that thing yet!). Still too worn out to stay up late writing so I find myself hitting the sack early (for me, anyway).
Haven’t touched the novel in weeks. The Short Story is very nearly done if I could settle the ants in my pants and sit down for a couple hours and write. My attention span is shorter than usual these days. I couldn’t concentrate on anything when I was sick-

You know, I hate it when you’re that certain brand of sick that doesn’t allow you to do anything at all. You know the kind I mean? Where you are just so miserable and your head aches and you don’t want to read and sitting up makes you cough more or your nose run and your throat is raw and sore and all you want is to go to sleep but you can’t?
Why can’t you be sick AND productive? I mean, a week worth of uninterupted writing would’ve ROCKED! Instead, I am now behind on everything and trying to figure out how to catch up again.

Work is work but now I am behind there too. Several projects that were due are now past due, which sucks. I’ll manage.
The new Sf Signal Podcast (linkage) is doing well! People really seem to like it, which is great. I like the different format (different from the Functional Nerds (linkage)), the mini-round tables, many voices – really fun so far. Booking guests can be fun too – I let John handle that for the Nerds, but I’ve been trying to handle that for the new podcast. Trading emails and getting myself established as a contact for this sort of thing takes time. Don’t want to be repeating guests either. So, bottom line – a challenge, but a worthwhile one.
I think that’s it for now. I am behind, after all…

When I had the flu in 2000, my BDSM muse drove me to the keyboard between fever spikes. I must have wrote 20,000 words in a few days. Careful what you ask for. 😛
Anyway, I like getting a little behind now and then… um, never mind…
I feel your pain, and yeah I bet some highly contagious but otherwise uneventful pink eye would have been right up your alley. Oh well. We can all dream.
What’s that? You. Over there. Yeah! You with the seeping conjunctivitis. Can I take a swab?
Hmm…I think I just grossed myself out.
