I really do amuse myself sometimes. And I probably shouldn’t be left alone with whiteboards.
Last night as I was leaving for home, I noticed that the whiteboard usually reserved for the ‘to do’ list of the IT department, was blank. Me being me, I picked up a marker and wrote the following:
- Find Mountain Top Lair Overlooking City
- Move In
- Invent Death Ray/Laser (pew-pew!)
- Hold City Ransom
- Pray there’s no Super Hero to foil your plot…
This went over well this morning / I’ve gotten a lot of comments and laughs over it.
This is not the first time I’ve decided to leave a bit of humor on a whiteboard. Just last week I left this on someone’s ‘to-do’ board:
Scrub the pots
Scrape the pans
Spice the hams and
Candy the yams.
If you don’t know what we’re talking about, check out ‘Where the sidewalk ends’ by Shel Silverstein. Fantastic book for kids. I had a copy and I absolutely loved it. It’s a book of poems and illustrations, all done by Shel Silverstein – meant for kids but I think adults enjoy them as well. The poem in question was about Sarah Cynthia Silvia Stout, who would not take the garbage out. She’d scrub the pots and scrape the pans, spice the hams and candy the yams, but though her mother would scream and shout, she would not take the garbage out.
You can pick up a copy at your local bookstore or here’s a link to it on Amazon.
